Located in Tang Jia Wan, Zhuhai, an area renowned for its profound history and beautiful landscape, the School of International Studies (SIS) is one of the six schools situated on Zhuhai campus of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU).
Since its founding in 2005, SIS has aimed to cultivate students with “bilingual proficiency, practical skills and global thinking”, and therefore has developed a teaching pattern of “multilingual education and extensive international exchanges”.
SIS currently offers programs of English, Spanish, Arabic, Korean and Russian at the undergraduate level, and minor courses of Japanese, French, German, and Portuguese.
Ever since its establishment, SIS has attached great importance to students’ exchange programs and endeavored to offer as many opportunities as possible for juniors to study abroad. To date almost half the junior students are sent overseas every year through exchange programs and short-term study trips. Our global presence extends to countries and regions including the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Jordan, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Mexico, Chile, the Philippines and Taiwan.
Meanwhile, the School offers graduate programs, including Master of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics (MA) and Master of Translation and Interpreting (MTI). So far, the number of graduates stands at 94. Over the past few years the employment rate of our graduates has consistently ranked No.1 at SYSU.
