At the invitation of the United Nation Association Of China (UNA-China), two students in the School of International Studies (SIS), on behalf of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), attended the 7th China-Japan-ROK Youth Forum held from August 26th to 31st in 2016 in Fukuoka, Japan.
This year, the China-Japan-ROK Youth Forum focused on the promotion of peace and cooperation throughout East Asia and consisted of a youth seminar, and model United Nations conference as well as cultural activities. The chairmen of the United Nation Association Of China, Japan, South Korea and 80 students from key universities in the three countries have attended this forum hosted by the United Nation Association Of Japan(UNA-Japan).
SIS graduate student Liu Weiyu delivered a speech in the opening ceremony as the president of the Chinese team. Additionally, she and undergraduate Liu Jin had a heated and deep discussion with other representatives in the forum. They fully displayed wide international perspectives and the excellent professional qualities of students in SIS.
The China-Japan-ROK Youth Forum has been held annually since 2010. As an important platform for advancing communication and friendship among students in China, Japan and South Korea, this forum aims at promoting future harmony and progress in East Asia by encouraging cooperation and exchanges among the youths of the three countries.
SYSU will host the next forum, with plans to hold it in Guangzhou ,China.
