International Student Association

In addition to improving the curriculum system, SIS also offers various kinds of services to help foreign students with their study and life on campus. In 2009, our students initiated the International Student Association (ISA) specifically for foreign students, the first of its kind at SYSU. The ISA adopts a one-on-one mode “buddy system”, designating one member for one international student to help them with airport pickups, registration and settling in quickly to campus life. So far the ISA has recruited 100 members and every year they receive 200 international students.

 
International Student Association, under the leadership of School of International Studies, is a student association for international students. ISA makes efforts to help solve daily life problems of international students, enrich their after-school life and enhance communications between International and Chinese students. ISO is divided into six departments: Department of International Students, Department of Volunteers, Department of Public Relations, Department of Secretary, Department of Publicity and Department of International Programs. Among them, Department of International Students recruits members from international students.

 
The ISA volunteers’ group is an essential part of ISA, aiming at creating a services platform for international students to start a brand new life in China. Volunteers of ISA help to make life easier for international students. The voluntary activities include the picking-up at the airport and the registration in Zhuhai Campus.
