Zhang Fengyuan (from the Class of 2020 majored in English Interpretation):
In the 13th Airshow China, we were responsible for receiving foreign guests and supporting the meeting. I take charge of receiving two foreign guests from the British Embassy in China and the Japanese Embassy in China, respectively. Having successfully completed my task, I also introduced the customs of Zhuhai and the relevant information of the airshow to them . Moreover, on behalf of the team, I would like to thank all the fellow undergraduates and postgraduates for their active cooperation, as well as the School of Physics and Astronomy’s volunteer team for their generous support.
Wang Yunke (from Class A of the 2018 majored in English ):
During the volunteering, I was chiefly responsible for greeting the oversea guests and for organizing meetings at the Zhuhai forum. The guests I greeted were the counsellor of the US Embassy in China and his companion. On the way, I listened to the guests’ opinions about energy, technology and other issues between China and the United States, from which I learned a lot. I was thankful to the volunteer activity, because not only did I got a chance to enjoy a wonderful airshow, but also gained valuable volunteer experience.

Wang Yao (from the Class of 2018 Silk Road Study Program):
It was a great honor to have the opportunity to volunteer for this airshow. Our main task was to receive oversea guests, picking them up at the airport, etc. Under the guidance of the supervising teacher in charge, we quickly became familiar with the work and completed our tasks responsibly. In addition, it gave us the valuable opportunity to participate in this grand airshow. Beyond making contributions to the successful activity, we have learned more about the brilliant achievements of China’s aerospace industry.
Chen Xinyi (from 2018 English major Class A):
In this year’s airshow and Zhuhai Forum, I, as a volunteer interpreter, was primarily responsible for receiving foreign guests and providing consecutive interpretation for Xu Hongliang, the secretary general of China National Space Administration, and for the guests present at the welcome dinner of the China National Space Administration . During the activity , I met friendly ambassadors to China and kind practitioners from aerospace industry, and I also accumulated knowledge related to aerospace science and technology. To conclude, apart from gaining a valuable consecutive interpretation experience, I also improved my people skills .
