Biography: 

Wang Bin was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. In 1988, he did research for the semiotician Umberto Eco at the University of Bologna in Italy. In 1989, he worked as a visiting professor at the European University Institute established by European Union member states. In the second half of 1995, he worked as a visiting professor at École supérieure d'art d’Aix-en-Provence (the Aix-en-Provence School of Art) in France. In the first half of 1996, he worked as a visiting professor at Long Island University in the United States. In 1991, he was promoted as a professor in SYSU. His main research area is theories of literary and culture criticism.
