Biography:
Luo Xuejuan is a lecturer of SYSU. From 1999 to 2000, she taught at School of Foreign Languages of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Since 2005, she has been working in SIS and has been the Chair of Department of Translation and Interpreting since 2007.
In 1999, she graduated from Huazhong University of Science and Technology with two B.A. degrees: Bachelor of Arts in English for Science and Technology (EST) and Bachelor of Law in Intellectual Property Law. Her graduation thesis Study on the Curriculum Design of Translation for Undergraduates of English Major was awarded as outstanding graduation paper in the university. In 2005, she got her M.A. degree in Linguistics & Applied Linguistics in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. In Sept. 2009, she began to study in School of Foreign Languages, SYSU for her Ph.D. degree in applied linguistics.
She teaches courses that mainly include Listening & Speaking, Reading, Writing and Computer Aided Translation (CAT). Her research interests are second language acquisition, systemic functional linguistics, translation studies and CAT. In Jul., 2010, she applied for and got approval for a graduate education reform project in SYSU, namely Curriculum Design and Textbook Compilation of CAT for Graduates of MTI. In Aug., 2008, she attended the 8th “International Conference on the Teaching of Computer-Aided Translation” and presented her conference paper, Curriculum Design of CAT Courses in the School of International Studies of Sun Yat-sen University.
